Loughborough Football
Following the summer of creating content for The Golfing Fish, I felt I’d developed a solid foundation in filming, editing and producing engaging videos. I wanted to take those skills into a team environment and challenge myself further during my final year at Loughborough.
Over the summer, I got in touch with the Loughborough Media Team and pitched the idea of creating behind-the-scenes content for both the Loughborough Lightning teams and the men’s football team. The idea was well received, and I was given the opportunity to develop it throughout the season.
From then on, I volunteered at every home game I could attend, planning, filming and editing content for the teams’ social media channels. It was my first experience creating content directly with players, teaching me how to make people feel comfortable on camera, capture their personalities and work effectively in a live sporting environment.
From Matchday to Behind the Scenes
During my time with the Loughborough Football Media Team, I produced over 20 videos across the Loughborough Men’s Football and Loughborough Lightning teams. This included match highlights, post-match interviews with players and managers, and behind-the-scenes social content.
I also created Lightning Lens, a new behind-the-scenes series designed to give supporters a different view of matchday, capturing the build-up, atmosphere and personalities within the team. I managed the full content process, from planning and filming to interviewing and editing, developing my ability to work quickly and confidently in a live sporting environment.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that Lightning Lens continued to be produced by the media team after I graduated.
